Best Cars for New Drivers

Asda Money research reveals hatchback vehicles are the most popular cars. Some 42% of those polled said that hatchbacks are the next type of car they will buy followed by Saloons (16%). These types of car can be great for both new and experienced drivers.(i)
With that in mind Asda Money reveals some of the best cars for new drivers that won't break the bank.
1. Ford KA
The Ford KA has long stood the test of time (since its launch in 1996) to become an iconic and classic beginner's car.(ii) This model is hugely popular; a cheap and cheerful vehicle that doesn't sacrifice reliability and safety over running costs. The Ford KA offers good fuel economy and costs for new drivers.
2. Peugeot 106
Another popular car model for first time drivers is the Peugeot 106. This entry-level vehicle has been on the UK roads since the early 1990s and offers good fuel economy making it cheap to run and insure.(iii) Whilst it's no longer in production, they can easily be found second hand. This small hatchback is ideal for town and country driving and there is a wide range of engine sizes available.
3. Seat Ibiza
Anyone looking for newer upmarket car for new drivers might want to consider the Seat Ibiza. The supermini is a sleek and stylish vehicle ideal for new drivers looking for a small city car. The entry level car is cheap to run and manage.(iv)
