(firmenpresse) - ALBUQUERQUE, NM -- (Marketwire) -- 08/30/12 -- The Mind Research Network (MRN) announces that a data base product named COINS, has been chosen to participate in the by hosting data from the project. The ABIDE project will be utilizing the COINS Data Exchange to share functional and structural imaging data, along with demographic and diagnostic data from more than 1,000 participants gathered from 15 different sites around the world. This represents one of the largest neuroimaging datasets for the study of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). The ABIDE data release is scheduled for .
COINS is dedicated to facilitating data sharing within the research community for ongoing analyses. The Collaborative Informatics Neuroimaging Suite (COINS) developed at MRN offers tools to collect data, share existing data, request data from other researchers and manage studies from beginning to end. COINS currently manages over 400 studies with more than 265,000 clinical assessments and 26,000 MRI and MEG scan sessions collected from 18,000 participants at the Mind Research Network, the Nathan Kline Institute, University of Colorado Boulder, the Olin Neuropsychiatry Research Center, and other sites.
The Data Exchange is an interface that allows investigators to request and share data. It also tracks data requests and keeps an inventory of data that has already been shared between users. Once requests for data have been approved, investigators can download the data directly from COINS.
