Blind Testing by Which? Proves George at Asda School Uniform is Best in Class
(firmenpresse) - LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM -- (Marketwire) -- 08/22/12 -- As the school year fast approaches, it's official, George at Asda's has been voted best in class in the overall value and quality stakes by independent consumer watchdog Which?
George uniforms proved themselves against other big brand retailers including M&S, Sainsbury's, Tesco and BHS in the independent blind tests.
Results revealed shoppers can spend less and still trust in the fact they are getting durable school uniforms - topping the poll in terms of value and quality overall. A professional tailor who carried out the blind testing commented on the 'good overall finish' of the cut, shape, fabric, quality and finish of the uniforms compared to the other brands.
Richard Lloyd, Which? Executive Director said: "With the new school year approaching and parents starting to shop around for children's uniforms, our research shows that good quality uniforms can be bought at budget prices."
The testing was carried out on five like for like garments (a polo shirt, girls' shirt, boys' trousers, a skirt and a jumper) and were weighted on price and the independent tailor's assessment on cut and shape, fabric quality and finish.
Fiona Lambert, Brand Director commented: "George uniforms are designed to last and from listening to our customers we know that great quality, long-lasting uniforms and affordable prices are equally as important as one another."
While Which? commended BHS for their excellent quality, they were keen to point out that they were almost double the price of the GBP 15.50 George uniform at a whopping GBP 28.50.
