Mike Ehredt's Journey to Pay Tribute to America's Finest

(firmenpresse) - HOPE, ID -- (Marketwire) -- 08/15/12 -- In 2010, Mike Ehredt launched and the idea of One Life, One Flag, One Mile. For every mile he runs, Ehredt stops and plants an American flag, tied with a yellow ribbon carrying the name, rank, age and hometown of fallen Soldiers, and salutes. In 2010 he ran over 4400 miles on his route from Oregon to Maine in honor of those we lost in Iraq.

This summer, beginning on August 23rd, Ehredt begins Project America Run II on the northern border of Minnesota and plans to average a marathon a day for 11 weeks straight. On Veteran's Day, November 11th, he'll finish his 2100-mile odyssey outside of Galveston, Texas. This time his solo run will pay tribute to Americans who served and died in Afghanistan.

Traveling alone and pushing a stroller filled with flags, Ehredt's route will take him through Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas.

"I do this as a personal tribute and gift of thanks to those who have served our country," states Ehredt. "Project America Run has no political agenda, no statement to be made; I simply want to create an invisible wall of honor and grace as my humble show of gratitude."
