Sharing 'First Day of School' Stories
(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 08/15/12 -- Staples Canada recently held a contest asking fans to tell us their best "First Day of School" story. The submissions poured in and over the course of just one week, we collected nearly 400 stories ranging from heart-warming to tear-jerking. We thought your listeners would love to hear some of the most hilarious stories we collected.

"Undercover Chucker"

On my first day of school I snuck a bunch of hot candy hearts in my lunchbox that were months old and ate them all during recess. I kept telling my teacher later on that I wasn't feeling good and she wouldn't let me go to the washroom so I vomited inside my desk. I thought nobody noticed but the next day my desk was all clean and there was a note for my parents stating that I didn't own up to what I had done. I never got heart candies for treats again and my lunch got checked daily after that.
"Try, Try Again"

When my niece started kindergarten, she told my sister she didn't want to go. My sister said she just had to "try it". At recess on the first day of school, a teacher stopped my niece at the edge of the schoolyard because it looked like she was leaving the playground. When asked what she was doing, my niece said, "I tried it. I didn't like it. So I'm going home." She did stay and, luckily, changed her mind (she is now in her 3rd year of university).
"Eager Beaver"

Back when I was a wee lad, I scared the life out of my mother on the first day of school. As the story goes, I had gotten up early and gotten myself dressed and ready for school and proceeded out the door. The problem was no one else was awake in the house yet. Long story short, the police were called and they eventually found me sitting on the steps of the school waiting for class to start.
