Jason Clemens Appointed Executive Vice-President of the Fraser Institute
(firmenpresse) - VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 08/14/12 -- The Fraser Institute, Canada's leading public policy think-tank, has appointed Jason Clemens its new executive vice-president.
Clemens, formerly a research director of the Ottawa-based Macdonald-Laurier Institute and before that the Pacific Research Institute in San Francisco, returns to the Fraser Institute after serving as its director of fiscal studies from 1997 to 2008.
"Jason Clemens is a one of North America's top economists. He brings the experience, intellect, and determination that will help the Fraser Institute continue to build on its role as Canada's top public policy research organization," said Niels Veldhuis, Fraser Institute president.

Clemens has written extensively on government spending, taxation, labour markets, and many other areas of public policy. He is the co-author of the award-winning book The Canadian Century: Moving out of America's Shadow and . He has also published commentaries in The Wall Street Journal, National Post, The Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, Vancouver Sun, Ottawa Citizen, and the Montreal Gazette.
Clemens is a frequent commentator on TV and radio and has also appeared before committees of both the House of Commons and the Senate as an expert witness. In 2006, he received the prestigious Canada's Top 40 Under 40 award as well as an Odyssey Award from the University of Windsor.
