Michigan Government Agencies Enhanced System Saves on Procurement Costs With IPT by BidNet
(firmenpresse) - DETROIT, MI -- (Marketwire) -- 08/07/12 -- Interactive Procurement Technologies by BidNet (IPT) launches a new version of the Michigan Inter-governmental Trade Network (MITN) Purchasing System enabling local government agencies in Michigan to cut procurement costs.
On the behalf of the MITN Purchasing System's 1,209 government agency departments, IPT launched an enhanced web site () which provides a resourceful online platform for local government agencies to streamline their procurement process and reduce costs, while making it easier for vendors to do business with the government.

Michigan state and local government resources are being stretched every day with ever-tightening budgets. "The enhancements made to the MITN e-procurement system make it easier for the agencies to optimize their efficiency while cutting costs," stated IPT Vice President, Dan Ansell. "The Cooperative Purchasing new feature is especially helpful to Michigan agencies looking to lower costs through aggregated quantities with other local agencies for higher volume purchases."
In addition to providing the ability to leverage shared resources, the e-procurement system also provides Michigan government agencies a greater process transparency and makes it easier for vendors to do business with the local government. "Agencies save money and their vendors get centralized access to bid opportunities; both vendors and agencies within the Michigan procurement cycle win," Ansell added.
Michigan Inter-governmental Trade Network (MITN) Purchasing System is accepting new Michigan local agencies to join the community of 99 government agencies posting RFPs and RFQs from over 1,200 departments to update their procurement process. Scheduled demonstrations are available to government agencies by contacting IPT by BidNet. There is no cost for agencies to use the procurement system, and vendors receive free access to bid documents.
Interactive Procurement Technologies by BidNet develops and manages online government purchasing systems, allowing for streamlined bidding, sharing of resources, and vendor management. They currently serve more than 700 government agencies, 8,000 purchasing officials, and more than 100,000 vendors through 20 e-procurement networks across the country.
