Weyerhaeuser to Auction Plants, Land in Kentucky and Oregon
(firmenpresse) - DALLAS, OR -- (Marketwire) -- 08/06/12 -- A former Timberstrand and TJI joist plant in Chavies, Ky., and a former integrated wood products mill site in Dallas, Ore., will be among the properties Weyerhaeuser will sell at auction in August, with marketing the properties and managing the sales.
The first of the two auctions will be Thursday, Aug. 23, in Chavies, Ky., with the sale of approximately 92.25 acres of land and a 500,000-square-foot industrial building, previously used by Weyerhaeuser as a truss manufacturing facility. The property will be sold as an entirety, with most of the equipment previously used in the plant included.
Five days later -- on Tuesday, Aug. 28 -- Weyerhaeuser will auction approximately 152 acres in eight tracts, including a 66-acre tract with a large office building, as well as manufacturing and storage buildings. Other tracts will include an income-producing retail building, a vacant three-acre commercial lot, additional industrial tracts and three tracts for residential or farm use, two of which abut the north fork of Ash Creek.
"These are some of our bigger industrial properties in a while. The Oregon property was part of the Dallas sawmill operation that had operated from 1906 until 2009. That tract will also sell with all equipment and personal property in place," said John Dixon, president of the auction company. "One of the warehouse buildings is currently under a short term lease, and a nine-acre tract has buildings currently leased to a retail hardware store and the Dallas Fire Department," he said.
