Robert Fitzsimmons Joins Online Futures Broker Optionshop as CEO
Online Brokerage to Specialize in Options on Futures for Portfolio Diversification and Risk Management
(firmenpresse) - CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwire) -- 08/06/12 -- Optionshop, a new online broker specializing in options on futures, announced today that Bob Fitzsimmons has joined as CEO, effective immediately. Fitzsimmons, a well-known futures industry senior executive, has prior experience as CEO of a futures exchange, broker and technology provider.

Fitzsimmons was previously CEO at ITG Derivatives LLC, an institutional futures and futures options brokerage, a role he assumed after ITG purchased RedSky Financial, where he also served as CEO. Prior, Fitzsimmons was CEO at NQLX, the single stock futures exchange joint venture between NASDAQ and Liffe. He also previously served as Managing Director at Nomura Securities International and as a Bond Options Broker at Kidder Peabody.
"There is an unprecedented level of retail interest in futures and commodities, but too many investors go into the futures markets without sufficient understanding of how to manage risk," said Fitzsimmons. Optionshop will provide investors with a variety of tools not available to the individual investor today, creating a futures options-trading experience like that found in equity options.
