Chartwells-Thompson Hospitality Donates 2500 Picnic Lunches to Chicago Students
Supports CPS Back to School Program
(firmenpresse) - CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwire) -- 08/03/12 -- Chartwells-Thompson Hospitality, the major food provider for Chicago Public Schools (CPS), today donated 2500 picnic lunches at a back to school event organized by the CPS Safe Haven program. The 2012 Safe Haven, Safe Summer program is a partnership between CPS and the faith-based community, which builds on strategies aimed at providing children with a safe and active environment during the summer. Today's rally is part of CPS' comprehensive back-to-school campaign to promote strong attendance habits during the 2012-2013 school year.
Chartwells-Thompson has donated thousands of free lunches in the past for students participating in the Safe Haven programs. Through the program, students from kindergarten through 12th grade have a place to go when Chicago Public Schools is not in session.
"We are very pleased to support CPS' back-to-school efforts and this rally in particular," said Travis Young, regional vice president for Chartwells-Thompson. "This is a great way to ensure that students and their families are ready to start the new school year."
