Jspace.com Launches Virtual Munich 11 Memorial to Honor Fallen Israeli Olympians
(firmenpresse) - NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 07/26/12 -- The Opening Ceremony of the London Olympic Games begins this Friday, July 27th. Yet on the 40th anniversary of the Munich Massacre, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has repeatedly refused to grant even one minute of silence to honor the fallen Israeli athletes at the Opening Ceremony. In response, has created the Munich 11 Virtual Memorial, a space where everyone can honor and remember the tragic events of September 1972.

Major figures including President Barack Obama, Republican Party Nominee Mitt Romney, Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon, Canadian Foreign Minister John Baird, German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle, and NBC Sportscaster Bob Costas joined the campaign begun by Munich widow Ankie Spitzer urging the IOC to dedicate just one minute of silence during the Opening Ceremony to the Israeli athletes killed on Olympic soil.
