(firmenpresse) - PASADENA, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 07/26/12 -- The California Art Club is presenting a Master Artist Workshop on "Watercolor Painting: Design and Content" with renowned watercolorist and art educator Gerald Brommer from Sept. 17 to 21 in Pasadena, Calif.

The award-winning artist, who has taught art for nearly three decades and written more than 20 books on a variety of art subjects, will address the multitude of steps required to interpret a scenic landscape into a watercolor painting. He will focus on design and content, while demonstrating different techniques involved with using a variety of resources, such as photographs, slides and old paintings, as well as painting on location "en plein air" (in the open air).

Attendees will work with Brommer each day of the weeklong workshop from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Instruction for the first three days will take place at the Concept Design Academy in Pasadena, Calif., and will be followed by two days of painting outdoors. The coursework is suitable for artists and art students of all levels, from beginning to advanced.

The cost of this workshop is $550 per person ($500 for Club members). Space is limited to 16 students, so early reservation is recommended.

For more information or to make a reservation, contact the Club at (626) 583-9009 or visit .

A unique aspect of the organization is that it includes among its members nationally renowned artists, art students, hobbyists, art scholars and art enthusiasts, in order to interject different perspectives into the dialogue about traditional arts. The mission of the Club, which is headquartered in Pasadena, Calif., is to promote traditional fine art in the fields of painting, drawing and sculpture; to produce and promote art exhibits that foster understanding and interpretation of traditional art heritage and California history; and to furnish educational opportunities in fine arts.
