Summer 2012 Sees a Series of Exciting Events for Every Taste Spring Up Across the French Riviera

Music
Nice is the largest city in the area and is home to one of Europe's leading jazz festivals. Nice Jazz Festival takes place in the picturesque Jardins de Cimiez during mid July. For more traditional chamber music, there's a large programme of events running in the same location in early August called Les Nuits Musicales de Nice.
Those dedicated to dance music will be wowed by Les Plages Electroniques, a festival on the 2nd and 16th August in Cannes that brings together leading artists across a spectrum of electronic music including dubstep/drum 'n' bass, deep house, electro, electro hip-hop and techno.
Art
'A la vie deliberee!' celebrates the history of artistic performances in the Cote d'Azur for the last 60 years. Staged as a review, this exhibition presents an enormous, fascinating collection of written and oral accounts, documents, photos and videos to bring the past to life in an engaging way.
For those who like their art to make a statement, the 'Extra Large' exhibition from the Centre Pompidou in Monaco includes oversized sculptures, installations and environments from National Museum of Modern Art featuring works by 20th century greats such as Joan Miro and Matta.
Dance
The widely renowned Cagnes sur Mer hosts the Chateau en Fete on the 4th August. Several dance troupes including Les Farfadets, Les Trolls and Murmurant will create an unforgettable atmosphere with a programme of eclectic performances throughout the evening.
