Neighborhood Healthfest Offers Activities, Screenings, Family Fun
(firmenpresse) - CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwire) -- 07/24/12 -- Free back-to-school physicals. Raffle prizes. Free health screenings for adults. Refreshments and kids' games. Saint Joseph Hospital is celebrating good health and inviting the community to its Neighborhood Healthfest from noon to 3 p.m. on August 5 at the Stone parking lot, 2837 N. Sheridan Road, Chicago.
The event is co-sponsored by 44th Ward Alderman Tom Tunney, 43rd Ward Alderman Michele Smith and State Rep. Sara Feigenholtz, 12th District. No registration is required for the event.
Activities planned for kids include:
Back-to-school physicals and immunizations for the first 50 families (limited number of physicals/immunizations will be offered; an immunization card is required)
Sign-up for the Illinois All Kids Insurance Program
Arts and crafts, and games
Special screenings for adults include:
Cholesterol
Blood pressure
Diabetes
Colon cancer (hemoccult test)
Podiatry
Sleep
Depression
Nutrition
Weight analysis
Osteoporosis
Flexibility and sports medicine
Other screenings will include ear acupuncture and vision screening for macular degeneration (limited number of special screenings will be offered).
