Zayo Announces Formation of Research and Education Channel
(firmenpresse) - LOUISVILLE, CO -- (Marketwire) -- 07/24/12 -- announces the formation of its new Research & Education (R&E) Channel. The Channel will focus on State Government and Federal entities connected to National Education Networks such as Internet2 and NLR, including NOAA, DREN, NASA, ESNet and other National Laboratories.
Brian Proffit has been named as Channel Director for this team. Brian has been focused on research and education within the Mid-Atlantic Region for the past four years at Zayo, and additionally served as a member of , working with numerous R&E Regional Optical Networks as part of the Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP) program. Brian has also been operating as Zayo's ambassador to Internet2 since they joined in the fall of 2011.

Zayo will be holding a Roundtable event on August 6th and 7th in Boulder, CO with the R&E Community. The event is a collaborative effort between the Regional Optical Networks and Zayo to discuss the current state of IT and telecom requirements to be successful in the education space.
