Minister MacKay Announces Infrastructure Improvements for Canadian Forces Base Esquimalt
(firmenpresse) - CFB ESQUIMALT, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 07/19/12 -- The Honourable Peter MacKay, Minister of National Defence, today announced a major investment for infrastructure work at Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Esquimalt. The Minister announced four projects including the replacement of obsolete electrical equipment at Canadian Forces Ammunition Depot Rocky Point; the outfitting of the Canadian Towed Array Sonar System block; repairs to A-Jetty; and the replacement of transformers at the Canadian Forces Fleet School.
"Our Government of Canada is determined to provide modern, efficient and effective infrastructure for our Canadian Forces personnel. I am pleased to show continued progress on these goals, which is in line with our commitment to give our men and women in uniform the support they need so they are fully prepared when the call to action comes," said Minister MacKay. "In addition, these projects also provide the economy with important local jobs, and with sustained work."
Canadian Forces personnel continue to deliver excellence both at a home and abroad. The Canadian Forces is a strong and reliable partner in the defence of North America making meaningful contributions to international security.
Companies who are receiving contracts for this work include G&E Contracting Ltd, Ledcor Construction, RUSKIN Construction and EMERY Electrical. The Government of Canada conducted open, fair, and transparent competition processes to award contracts for these projects.
