(firmenpresse) - EDMONTON, ALBERTA -- (Marketwire) -- 07/18/12 -- Brad Ferguson joins (EEDC) as president and CEO effective August 1, 2012.
"As a champion for Greater Edmonton, this is a leadership role that I am looking forward to," says Ferguson, founder and CEO of . "My roots are in this city. I am committed to working with our stakeholders to diversify and sustain Edmonton's economic growth as a prosperous, competitive world city."
A University of Alberta graduate, Ferguson has worked in the private sector, including Procter and Gamble, and KPMG. In addition, he has consulted in strategy development, business planning, and policy work.
"Our recruitment attracted a diverse range of high-calibre candidates," says Peter Silverstone, chair of EEDC. "Clearly there is significant interest in taking Edmonton to the next level, and we, as a board, look forward to working with Brad Ferguson."
Ferguson is active in the community, serving on the boards of and the . He replaces Ron Gilbertson, who retired recently after serving as president and CEO in 2007-12.
