Minister Paradis Approves BD White Birch Investment LLC Acquisition of White Birch Paper Company
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 07/13/12 -- The Honourable Christian Paradis, Minister of Industry, today made the following statement regarding the acquisition of the Canadian business carried on by White Birch Paper Company by BD White Birch Investment LLC:
"I can confirm that I have approved BD White Birch Investment LLC's application under the Investment Canada Act to acquire control of White Birch Paper Company.
"I am also pleased that the Stadacona mill is reopening, with the support of the Quebecgovernment. This is good news for the mill's employees, the industry and the region's economy.
"The approval of this transaction demonstrates that our investment policies are working, helping to create jobs and economic growth."
