(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, CANADA -- (Marketwire) -- 07/05/12 -- Canadian General Investments, Limited (CGI) (TSX: CGI)(TSX: CGI.PR.B)(TSX: CGI.PR.C)(LSE: CGI) reports on an unaudited basis that its net asset value per share (NAV) at June 30, 2012 was $20.79, resulting in year-to-date and 12-month NAV returns, with dividends reinvested, of 2.3% and -5.8%, respectively. These compare with the -1.5% and -10.3% returns of the benchmark S&P/TSX Composite Index on a total return basis for the same periods.
The closing price for CGI's common shares at June 30, 2012 was $15.15, resulting in year-to-date and 12-month market returns, with dividends reinvested, of -4.6% and -11.2%, respectively.
