Productive Illinois Farmland to Sell in Auctions Aug. 9-10
(firmenpresse) - ARTHUR, IL -- (Marketwire) -- 07/05/12 -- Approximately 746 acres of highly productive Illinois farmland will sell in auctions set for Aug. 9 and 10, with marketing both properties. The events will begin Thursday, Aug. 9, with the offering of 462 contiguous acres in Moultrie County. The following day, the company will auction 284 acres in Henry County.
"I expect this will be welcome news to the strong demand side of the current market," said R.D. Schrader, president of the auction company. "Practically all of this land in both locations is highly productive, with good soils and drainage outlets."
The Moultrie County land will be sold in five tracts, ranging from 15 acres to 165.5 acres. That auction will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, at Yoder's Country Kitchen, 1195 E. Columbia Rt. 133, in Arthur, Ill. The property is located about 40 miles southeast of Decatur and has frontage on CR 1600N and other county roads.
The Henry County land will be sold at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10, at the Annawan Best Western, 317 North Canal Street, Annawan, Ill. It will be offered in five tracts, ranging from 2 acres to 152 acres, and fronts on U.S. 6 near Annawan.
"We expect these properties to appeal to farmers/operators as well as investors. Farmers are continuing to add to their holdings. Investors can still achieve excellent ongoing returns, with the potential for continued appreciation in the value of their investment as well," said Schrader.
Bidders will be permitted to make offers on any combination of tracts or on the entirety. "The property will sell in the combination that brings the highest total price. This method of bidding allows people to bid on just the tracts that suit their needs," said Schrader.
