National 'Buy American' Organization Honors Filson for Ongoing Commitment to Manufacturing in America

Bloome will honor outdoor apparel company Filson with the 2012 TAP America Loyalty to Our Country Award for its ongoing commitment to keeping a majority of its manufacturing in the United States.

The Made In USA Foundation Awards Gala on July 2nd, 2012 will bring together the nation's leading executives, economy experts and influencers to discuss the issues facing American manufacturers and honor those who have truly made a difference providing jobs to American workers. TAP recently joined forces with the Made In USA Foundation and the American Job Alliance to form the 'Buy American Coalition' with the goal of stimulating our national economy, protecting our nation's values and weakening authoritarian regimes abroad like China that violate human rights.
The 'Buy American' coalition examines the causes of America's joblessness and rising underemployment with the goal of finding actionable solutions. Important issues under consideration include: international trade, geopolitics, currency devaluation, product safety and compliance, human rights, resource availability, and consumer interest in American products. The coalition is already experiencing broad, non-partisan support from many individuals and organizations. It does not endorse any political party, candidate, union, trade association or corporation.
TAP America recently announced their to encourage stores to stock at least 20% of U.S. goods and to increase their American-made inventories by just 1% per month. As incentive, businesses who are featured in news articles, included in the , and are featured in a Groupon-like service called AmeriCoupon that helps people find deals on products made in America. TAP Merchant Filson was recently awarded the TAP America Loyalty to America Award for its commitment to keeping over 70% of manufacturing in the United States.
