(PresseBox) - Identity fraud is one of the fastest growing crimes globally. These crimes occur when someone uses a fake copy of identifying information, such as a driver license or passport to commit fraud. At a recent World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, the Interpol Secretary General Ronald K. Noble warned that with 11 million stolen or lost passports in circulation, passport fraud is becoming a major global threat. Further in the USA one faces a real great national problem with teenagers ordering counterfeit driving licenses or ID documents via internet to buy alcohol or cigarettes or to pass age access controls. This combined package of unique fast high resolution scanner paired with a comprehensive authentication library offers class leading counterfeit detection not visible to naked eye. This alliance will allow both companies to further expand their markets on a global basis to stem global fast growing identity fraud.
The PENTA full page document scanner offers the world`s fastest reading and image capture technology and the first scanner to include optional touch screen display, 10 hours battery powered stand-alone operation and LAN / WLAN. This unique PENTA Terminal set up allows for complete stand-alone IP based operation in a highly flexible environment. Documents are scanned and specific information is compared, classified and authenticated by the AssureTec database. The AssureTec authentication library includes drivers licenses, all ICAO passports, visa`s, resident cards (green cards), ID1 and 2 cards.
