Sanoma expands its learning solutions portfolio - acquires Bureau ICE, expert in school tests and exams

Educational publisher Malmberg, part of Sanoma Learning has acquired and closed
the acquisition of the testing and examination company Bureau ICE. The result of
the company will be consolidated to Sanoma from the beginning of Q3 2012. Bureau
ICE produces tests and exams for secondary and vocational education in the
Netherlands. The company employs some 46 people.
"Bureau ICE's high quality tests and exams, and their expertise in this sector,
bring added value for Sanoma Learning. This is a next step on our strategy
towards offering comprehensive learning solutions", says CEO Jacques Eijkens
from Sanoma Learning. "The demand for tests and exams is rising, schools need
good quality tools to monitor the development of their students and determine
the learning outcomes of their teaching efforts", he continues.
The acquisition is in line with Sanoma's strategy to focus on learning. Tests
and exams are one of the core building blocks of Sanoma Learning's solutions
which support teachers and school management with their various daily tasks and
help students achieve better results.
