ALMA MEDIA RATIONALISES ITS DELIVERY OPERATIONS IN THE PIRKANMAA REGION
Alma Manu Oy, the printing and distribution company of Alma Media Group, aims to
rationalise and reorganise its delivery operations as a result of the overall
development in delivery volumes. Due to the planned actions, Alma Manu initiates
statutory cooperation negotiations with its newspaper deliverers in the
Pirkanmaa region.
The negotiations will concern the planned rationalisation and reorganisation of
the Pirkanmaa delivery operations as well as the motivation, effects and
alternatives of possible measures affecting personnel.
The negotiations will encompass the newspaper deliverers working at the
Pirkanmaa region, in total 584 persons. According to the company's tentative
estimate, Alma Manu anticipates that the workload in delivery operations may
decrease by 18 full-time work years. The potential reduction in workload may
result in redundancies.
Potential impacts on employees will be defined during the negotiations. The
employer, employees and labour authorities will jointly prepare an action plan
to support the re-employment opportunities of any employees that may be made
redundant. Alma Manu plans to offer employees other positions as an alternative
to redundancy, if possible.
