FIRST Joint European Societies Guideline for Dyslipidaemia Including Raised Cholesterol Highlights That Plant Stanols and Sterols Can Play a Role in Cholesterol Reduction

The guidelines highlight that lifestyle interventions should be the first step for managing cholesterol in all patients - the evidence supporting the role of phytosterols including plant stanols and sterols is noted as having 'A grade' evidence within the new guidelines.
