Insurer hopes proposed GBP 90 speeding fine will make roads safer for motorcyclists
(firmenpresse) - MANCHESTER, UNITED KINGDOM -- (Marketwire) -- 06/25/12 -- retailer Swinton Bikes is reminding motorcyclists not to break speed limits when they are out on the roads. This comes at a time when The Government is holding a consultation on increasing the fines for speeding.
Under the proposals The Government wants to increase the fixed penalty notice for speeding from GBP 60 to GBP 90. As well as speeding, the fines would also be handed out for failing to stop at a zebra crossing, tailgating or braking suddenly.

The proposals, put forward by Transport Minister, Mike Pending will be put through a public consultation before minister decide whether to pursue them.
Anthony Aronin, Head of Swinton Bikes said, "Speeding is irresponsible and dangerous and puts the lives of the motorcyclist, passengers and pedestrians at risk. Motorcyclists should also be aware that if they are convicted of a speeding offence their premium may also increase."
