Media Advisory: Annual Conference of the Governor General, Lieutenant Governors and Territorial Commissioners at Rideau Hall
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 06/25/12 -- His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, will host the Annual Conference of the Governor General, Lieutenant Governors and Territorial Commissioners, at Rideau Hall, on June 27 and 28, 2012.
"I'm pleased to welcome lieutenant governors and territorial commissioners to Rideau Hall, the home of the people of Canada, as we exchange on how we can better serve the needs and interests of all Canadians," said His Excellency. "It is an opportunity to reflect on our common goals and objectives for Canada and to further pave the way for a smarter and more caring country."
This year's conference will be chaired by His Honour the Honourable David C. Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario. The governor general, lieutenant governors and territorial commissioners meet annually to discuss matters of mutual interests and how they can better serve Canadians from coast to coast to coast. In 2011, the conference was hosted by His Honour the Honourable John Crosbie, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador, in St John's.
Media representatives are invited to cover the opening remarks by the Governor General and the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at 9 a.m., and are asked to arrive at the Princess Anne Entrance no later than 8:45 a.m. the day of the conference.
