About Ruth Mayer
Ruth Mayer is known for working in many diverse painting styles including impressionism, surrealism, abstract and realism. Several of her works also include perceptual processing illusions. The scope of Ruth's subject matter ranges from landscapes to cityscapes, sports, fantasy, portraits, seascapes and spiritual subjects. Mayer is the only female artist in history commissioned to paint a pope's portrait. Mayer presented her study of Pope John Paul II to him personally in 2004. She also completed a major work of the World Trade Center's Twin Towers being embraced by an angel just months before the 9/11 tragedy.
