Inception Media Group to Release Award-Winning "Appropriate Adult" on Home Video and Digitally
"Appropriate Adult" Stellar Cast Wins Three BAFTAs for Leading Actor, Dominic West; Leading Actress, Emily Watson; and Supporting Actress, Monica Dolan
(firmenpresse) - LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 06/19/12 -- Inception Media Group, LLC, a diversified media company specializing in the production, acquisition and distribution of entertainment content, will distribute the award-winning film "Appropriate Adult," produced by ITV Studios, on home video and digitally in September 2012 throughout North America. This critically acclaimed film just received three BAFTAs (British Academy Television Awards) for Leading Actor, Dominic West; Leading Actress, Emily Watson; and Supporting Actress, Monica Dolan. Emily Watson was also nominated for both a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award for her role in the film.
Based on true events, "Appropriate Adult" tells the story of British serial killer Fred West (Dominic West -- HBO's "The Wire" and BBC America's "The Hour") and his relationship with his "appropriate adult," Janet Leach (Emily Watson -- "War Horse" and "Gosford Park"). After volunteering as West's appropriate adult -- a person from the community who assists vulnerable adults facing criminal charges -- Janet finds herself sitting with West during his highly-charged police interviews.
Fred West began to view Janet as his confidante and often chose to disclose unknown facts about the scale and the nature of his crimes to her. At pivotal stages in the investigation, Fred deliberately misled the investigating officers. Aware from her private conversations with Fred that there were more victims to be found, Janet threatened to turn her back on the case unless he told the truth.
"Appropriate Adult" was acquired from ITV Studios Global Entertainment.
