President and CEO Betsey Bayless Named to National Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems' Executive Committee
(firmenpresse) - PHOENIX, AZ -- (Marketwire) -- 06/19/12 -- Betsey Bayless, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Maricopa Integrated Health System, has been named to the Executive Committee of the National Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems.
"Ms. Bayless offers an exceptional record of public service and financial acumen that will help safety net hospitals respond effectively to federal and state funding challenges," NAPH President and Chief Executive Officer Bruce Siegel, MD, MPH, said. "We're extremely pleased to welcome her to our Executive Committee."
The 18-member Executive Committee is the primary governing body for the National Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems (NAPH). Executive Committee members are elected by the full NAPH Board of Directors, which comprises the chief executives of each of the NAPH's approximately 140 member hospitals and health systems. Executive Committee members serve two-year terms and can serve a maximum of three terms.
The National Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems represents America's safety net hospitals and health systems. These facilities provide high-quality health services for all patients, including the uninsured and underinsured, regardless of ability to pay. They provide many essential community-wide services, such as primary care, trauma care, and neonatal intensive care, and train many of America's doctors, nurses, and other health care providers.
Maricopa Integrated Health System (MIHS) includes Maricopa Medical Center, the Arizona Burn Center, the Arizona Children's Center, two psychiatric hospitals, 11 community-oriented family health centers and an attendant care program.
