(firmenpresse) - MIDDLETOWN, DE -- (Marketwire) -- 06/13/12 -- This summer there is going to be an economic relief concert to benefit the local economy of Middletown, Delaware and surrounding areas. A concert to help benefit the Red Cross is going to be tentatively held at the tower theatre in nearby Upper Darby, Pennsylvania or on the campus grounds at the University of DE.
The benefit concert is expected to be held by the end of the 2012 summer season, but no official dates have been set as acts are being arranged and staff is being put together for the local event.
With an economy that is starting to rebound from the lows hit in late 2009 and early 2010, towns like Middletown, Delaware are starting to see a resurgence in housing developments as residents are starting to move into the area from the surrounding metropolitan areas such as New York City, Philadelphia, and Baltimore, Maryland.
Middletown, Delaware, a town located in New Castle County, has a population of nearly 20,000 people and is home to a handful of notable residents such as Dwayne Henry, Loudon Wainwright III, guitarist and singer Tom Verlaine, and , the drummer from the band Kiss.
Other greats from the area will be attending to help raise money and to benefit the local New Castle economy as a once famous local resident knows that if you don't support your local area and community, then what can you support?
Middletown, Delaware is one of the smaller towns in New Castle County, Delaware and is one of the most rapid growing cities in the state according to the last 2010 census.
