Media Advisory: Governor General to Meet With 2012 Canadian Leadership Conference Participants
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 06/12/12 -- His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, will meet with the delegates of the 2012 Governor General's Canadian Leadership Conference (GGCLC), in Ottawa, on June 14 and 15, 2012. The delegates will gather in the nation's capital for a two-day discussion on the conference's theme, 'Leadership and Sustainable Communities.' The eighth edition of the GGCLC was officially opened by His Excellency in Halifax, on June 1, and will come to a close on June 15.
"Once again, I am looking forward to meeting with the participants and hearing their stories and innovative ideas on what they experienced during their cross-country journey," said the Governor General. "These future leaders in business, unions, non-profit and public administration are working together to find original ways to address challenges in different communities. Their sense of leadership and determination will no doubt contribute to their efforts to build a smarter and more caring nation."
On both days, 16 study groups of delegates from across the country will present their findings to the Governor General at the Government of Canada Conference Centre.

The GGCLC was created in 1983, by then-governor general Edward Schreyer, and is held every four years. It brings together Canada's future leaders from business, labour, government, non-governmental organization, education and cultural sectors for a unique, two-week experience aimed at broadening their perspectives on work, leadership, their communities and their country.
