Swinerton Builders Silicon Valley Builds Hope and Lasting Environment
(firmenpresse) - SANTA CLARA, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 06/11/12 -- As passionate about building better communities as they are building excellent structures, and partners recently donated a total of 442 man hours towards their local "Rebuilding Day." Joining Swinerton was a unique crew that included students from the AGC Student Chapter of San Jose State University's Civil Engineering Program and the Rotary Club of Santa Clara, who were all eager to donate their community service time to help the effort.
Together the team, led by Swinerton Business Development Manager and House Captain Nick Sandersfeld, all pitched in to upgrade a beautiful old Victorian home owned by , an organization dedicated to empowering homeless and at-risk families and individuals in finding the way home. This effort is accomplished by offering various levels of housing and day programs in a safe and supportive environment. Swinerton was proud that in addition to monetary donations to Rebuilding Together from The Swinerton Foundation they were able to support InnVision The Way Home by giving back with what they do best -- !
Their work-in-kind efforts kicked-off with an early start that had the crew hard at work completing tasks such as replacing flooring in the kitchen, dining room, bathroom, and pantry; replacing the entire back deck; repainting the exterior of the house as well as the interior; replacing missing boards to the fence surrounding the property; and additional landscaping. Volunteers also installed CFLs, smoke detectors, and CO2 detectors, making this tired home not only brighter for residents but safer. Dedicated to building tomorrow today, Swinerton is bettering the communities in which they live and work through volunteer efforts, trusted relationships, and excellence in building.
