Yuli Turovsky Invested Into the Order of Canada
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 06/11/12 -- His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, presented the insignia of Officer of the Order of Canada to Mr. Yuli Turovsky, during a private ceremony in Montreal, Quebec, on June 11, 2012. Mr. Turovsky was appointed Officer of the Order of Canada on November 3, 2011.
Cellist and orchestral conductor, Yuli Turovsky has promoted Canada's musical excellence. Founder, and former director of I Musici de Montreal chamber orchestra, and more recently founding artistic director of the Nouvelle Generation chamber orchestra, he has channelled his tireless energy and choice of repertoire into reinvigorating chamber music. He has performed with major Canadian and international orchestras as a guest soloist and has distinguished himself through his teaching, notably with the Universite de Montreal's faculty of music, where he has trained several renowned cellists.
