State of Maryland Awards Cognosante $10.1 Million Contract to Support Medicaid Enterprise Restructuring Project
(firmenpresse) - MCLEAN, VA -- (Marketwire) -- 06/11/12 -- , a leading provider of IT services for healthcare organizations, announced it was awarded a contract with the to establish and support the state's Medicaid Project Management Office. The contract, which began on June 4, 2012 is valued at $10.1 million and will continue through May 31, 2016 with two one-year options.
Cognosante will provide program management support, including a project management office, quality assurance and quality control services as well as organizational change management in support of the Department's Medicaid Enterprise Restructuring Project known as MERP. The four major areas of MERP include the design, development and implementation of a replacement Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS); transition from State operations to fiscal agent operations; development and implementation of a decision support system and remediation of the legacy MMIS to accommodate ICD-10 diagnosis and surgical procedure codes.
