(firmenpresse) - MONTEBELLO, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 06/11/12 -- Oncology Services International (OSI) has entered into a joint venture with Yipuda Investment Management Company to provide equipment service to the radiotherapy market in the People's Republic of China. The new company, called International Parts and Technology Alliance (IPTA), is the first-of-its-kind branded third-party service option for Chinese radiotherapy providers.

OSI has over 25 years of experience in linear accelerator (LINAC) maintenance and repair services, and Yipuda Management has more than 17 years of experience providing radiotherapy solutions in the local Chinese market.

"China offers a large, growing and underserved market for LINAC service," said Rich Ellis, OSI Vice President and IPTA Vice Chairman. "We are very excited to bring the same high quality, lower cost alternative to OEM service to China that we have been delivering to our customers in the U.S. for many years."

"Our mission is to establish lasting partnerships to help our customers improve the treatment of their patients while lowering costs," says Frank Qian, President and Chairman of IPTA. "We will continuously strive to provide a benefit to the radiation therapy community."

IPTA will be headquartered in Beijing, People's Republic of China, and is expected to begin operations in third quarter, 2012.

Oncology Services International (OSI) is the world leader in linear accelerator service as well as refurbished systems and parts sales. OSI has the world's largest independent service organization and also is the largest seller of refurbished linear accelerators in the world. The company has extensive refurbished radiation oncology medical devices and tens of thousands of fully tested parts in stock, and provides service 24/7 -- on site usually within a maximum of four hours.

Yipuda Investment Management Company was established by the management of Beijing Kang Li Da Trading Company (KLD) to form the joint venture with OSI. Established in 1996, Kang Li Da (KLD) has grown from a small medical equipment importer to a multi-million USD corporation. Today, KLD provides radiation centers and hospitals throughout mainland China with radiotherapy equipment, technical training, after-sales service and administration. As a result, KLD is mainland China's leading radiotherapy market supplier. Headquartered in Beijing, KLD has two other offices in the greater Beijing metro area, along with a factory for equipment manufacturing.
