Minister Toews' Statement on Updates to the "Wanted by the CBSA" List and a Removal
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 06/04/12 -- The Honourable Vic Toews, Minister of Public Safety provided the following statement today on the addition of five new profiles to the "Wanted by the CBSA" list and on a removal of an individual from Canada.
"Today, five new individuals' profiles have been added to the 'Wanted by the CBSA' list. The success of this initiative is a confirmation that Canadians believe in making our communities safer. I commend law enforcement agencies and members of the public who have worked together to identify and locate those who commit crimes and attempt to evade justice.
I also note the removal of Mr. Damion Rami Butler, who was apprehended in January in the Greater Toronto Area, and who was inadmissible to Canada for serious criminality. This brings to 19 the number of individuals who have been removed from Canada and no longer threaten the security of our communities.
Together, these measures are sending a strong message that Canada will not be home to those who come to this country with ill intent."
