Twenty young entrepreneurs to travel to Mexico City, Mexico to propose entrepreneurial solutions to G20 leaders

(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 06/01/12 -- Today, 20 young Canadian entrepreneurs from across Canada are preparing to depart for Mexico City where they will form the official Canadian delegation at the G20 Young Entrepreneur Summit (G20 YES). The summit runs between June 2 and June 5, 2012.

These dynamic young leaders were selected by the Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF) to participate in the G20 YES, an annual international summit of dedicated and influential entrepreneurs of the G20 countries, coordinated by the G20 Young Entrepreneurs' Alliance (G20 YEA). The global delegates will work together to identify ways that government and business communities can best harness the potential of young entrepreneurs. In addition, they will discuss in-depth research conducted by McKinsey & Company and the entrepreneurship barometer established by Ernst & Young, which demonstrate that entrepreneurship is critical for innovation, growth and employment, particularly for young people.

"I'm very proud to bring this world-class group of young Canadian entrepreneurs to the world stage," says Vivian Prokop, chief executive officer of the Canadian Youth Business Foundation and founding chair of the G20 Young Entrepreneurs' Alliance (G20 YEA). "They best represent the driven, resourceful and innovative nature of the entrepreneurial ecosystem that has been cultivated in Canada through our collaborative network of partners and, which has been applauded worldwide."

The discussion at G20 YES Mexico, the third to occur since CYBF hosted the inaugural G20 YES in June 2010, will focus on key points for support that have been established through intense discussion at past summits. The topics that have emerged as key focus points for discussion and improvement are: access to funding, coordinated support, entrepreneurship culture, regulation and taxation, and education and training. For the current summit, three key priorities have been identified, namely, access to funding, entrepreneurship culture and regulation and taxation. Through improvement of these measures, it is believed that business and entrepreneurial culture can be moved towards a world in which young entrepreneurs are limited only by their imaginations.
