Team FXPRIMUS Aylezo Takes Much Deserved Win At Rd.2 of Malaysian Super Series

After having eluded the team for the past two races, Team took the chequered flag in first place at Round 2 of the Malaysian Super Series (MSS), held this past 26th and 27th of May, 2012.
Instead of its usual format that requires each team to race in two sprint races of ten laps each, the MSS, which has been contested since 2002, took on a different format for this round. This time, each team had to go out in a full-out one hour race, with a mandatory five minute pit stop allowed at any time in the race.
The second round of the Malaysian Super Series is the third race that and Aylezo have raced in this year. The first was the inaugural Gulf 12 Hours race in Abu Dhabi where the team took second place and the first round of the Malaysian Super Series, which took place as a support race for the Malaysian Grand Prix - the team came home in third place.
Spirits were understandably high in the pits of Team Aylezo, team driver Zen Low was ecstatic but it wasn't an easy race for him. Speaking about the race, he said, "We have finally done it and took the top step of the podium. It felt good standing up there, but it wasn't easy. The weather was incredibly hot today and the temperature in the cockpit was around seventy degrees Celsius. That's like being in a sauna for an hour. The only difference is you have to concentrate. We did exactly that, and everything was perfect. I would like to thank for their support and believe in the team. Both companies are driven by good results and this is terrific for us."
However, the win didn't come too easily. A gearbox problem reared its ugly head again and gave some problems in the practise stage. The team worked long hours to rush in a new gearbox before the start of qualifying or a grid penalty would have been imposed for the fitment of a new gear box.
"Though we worked long and hard, we also got lucky because we could rush in a new gearbox and have it fitted on time without any penalty. We just had to do something about the situation and so we had to work through the night and get on with the race with our fingers crossed. Sometimes a race team has to improvise, we did exactly that and we brought in the results," said Zen Low about the gearbox issue.
Speaking about the race, Terry Thompson, President of , was simply overjoyed with the result, "Finally we have taken first place. We knew it would be coming soon, first the second place finish in Abu Dhabi, and then third place here in Sepang, and now first. It was not a matter of if, but more a matter of when, and today it came. It just shows that we are always evolving and improving and that's in line with the spirit of our company, to continue to evolve, to better ourselves and to offer our clients a good product. Our racing team reflected that perfectly today."
Team Aylezo will contest in Round 3 of the Malaysian Super Series which will take place in July at the Sepang International Circuit.
