(firmenpresse) - EDMONTON, ALBERTA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/25/12 -- Youth in Alberta line up at Edmonton's Rexall Place in anticipation for the kick-off of . Each year, thousands of youth across the province gather for the life changing weekend called YC. What will they hear? This year, the message is "."

"We have a dream, in fact, an extreme dream...and it's to see a generation fully alive and living for the purposes of God," says Mike Love executive director of . "Our theme this year is "," God wants these students to surrender every area of their lives completely over to him. It sounds radical, but the truth is we will never fully be all God wants us to be if we are not completely surrendered to Him."

More than awesome - is about youth being challenged to live a life for the purposes of God. The event will take place May 27-29 2011, at Rexall Place and the Expo Centre in Edmonton, Alberta.

Since its inception in 1994, the YC phenomenon has swept across the nation for 15 years, and has grown from 500 students in a small gymnasium, to a sell-out crowd of over 16,000 delegates in Alberta. More than 250,000 students have been impacted by this event that is spreading across the globe.

"We want to see more lives impacted through YC Alberta, YC Manitoba, YC Belize, YC Slovakia, YC Quebec, YC Newfoundland and Labrador and through Global Youth Missions," says Love. "More importantly, this weekend is about setting aside our denominational differences as we become one in Christ."

will feature Fresh IE (CA) - the first Canadian rapper ever to be nominated for a Grammy, Duffy Robbins (US), Danielle Strickland (CA) and Grammy Award winning Switchfoot (US).

YC attendee, Liz says, "I don't think I've ever been this excited about anything. I got so close with God at past YC's. It has changed me forever. The bands that are playing this year are amazing. I cannot describe how great they are. Thanks SO much...from my heart."
