Ed Orgeron -- USC Defensive Coordinator, Recruiting Coordinator, and Defensive Line Coach to Kick Off SMCHS Eagle Club Speaker Series on Thursday, May 24th
The First of a Multi-Part Series
(firmenpresse) - RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/23/12 -- USC Defensive Coordinator, Recruiting Coordinator, and Defensive Line Coach, Ed Orgeron will be the featured speaker at the Santa Margarita Catholic High School () "Eagle Football Club Speaker Series" on Thursday, May 24th at 7 p.m. at the Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club in Mission Viejo. This is the first of a multi-part series; additional confirmed presentations include Jeff Tedford, Head Coach, Cal Berkeley on Thursday, May 31st and Jim Mora, Head Coach, UCLA on Thursday, June 7th.
"This will be our inaugural event and we are thrilled about the opportunity to have Coach Orgeron kick off the celebration," said Harry Welch, SMCHS . "Coach is regarded as perhaps the best recruiter in all of college sports. He brings energy and passion to the game and this is a great chance for our members to meet this incredible individual and learn how to compete with intensity in order to succeed."
Orgeron has coached or recruited over two dozen NFL first and second round picks and has been a part of four NCAA National Championships. NFL Greats Warren Sapp, Russell Maryland, Cortez Kennedy, Mike Patterson and many others have all developed under his tutelage. He has won national championships at both USC and Miami, and has coached other prestigious football programs including Syracuse, Mississippi, Tennessee, and the New Orleans Saints. Orgeron was also noted for his film debut in the Academy Award-winning movie "The Blind Side" where he played himself as the head coach of Mississippi University.
"The Speakers Series is just one part of the Eagle Program that we developed at SMCHS as a way of uniting our community and providing additional funds for our teams to perform at a level both on and off the field," said Paul Carey, President of SMCHS.
Depending upon the membership level, club members can enjoy reserved seating at regular season home games, special speaker events, Eagle Football Club Member dinners and a spirit bus for in state regular season away games.
