Bespoke Offer Delivers Range of Valuable Savings for Customers

The RS Customised Solutions package offers a tailored logistics solution for customers. For Power Panel, the solution has removed a number of procurement and logistics issues enabling them to focus on other areas of the business, saving time and money. The RS team in Birmingham and OEM team worked together to implement a suite of services ranging from consolidated deliveries of products such as specialised to product resourcing.
Simon Priest, material and logistics manager at Power Panel, said: "We have always had a great working relationship with RS and the team has worked extra hard for us to install this solution. By setting up a bespoke kitting package moulded to our specific business needs, RS has helped us to reduce costs and free up valuable resources."
The RS team at the Birmingham branch has implemented a designated stock holding area within its warehouse for Power Panel; this is automatically replenished to an agreed level to cover the increased production demands of Power Panel's customers. The solution has not only helped to reduce the burden on storage space through inventory reduction and improve their Just in time (J.I.T) system, but has improved cash flow as products are ordered on a requirement only basis.
RS also consolidates orders into personalised tote boxes and now delivers within a designated time slot each day. Power Panel also benefits from 'Goods In' efficiencies and waste reduction.
RS Birmingham branch manager, Andy Dixon, pleased that another RS customer can benefit from the Customised Solutions package, added: "By working closely with our customers we can increase the amount of flexibility offered and find the best package for their needs. In the case of Power Panel, we tailored the profile of the stock, managing delivery and storage requirements. We also customised the packaging, making the whole process much easier for them."
