VHA Recognizes Nine Health Care Organizations With Supply Chain Management Excellence Awards
(firmenpresse) - IRVING, TX -- (Marketwire) -- 05/21/12 -- VHA Inc., the national health care network, has recognized nine health care organizations for their work to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs from the supply chain while maintaining quality patient care. Winners of the 2012 VHA Leadership Award for Supply Chain Management Excellence Award were announced yesterday at VHA's Annual Leadership Conference in Denver, Colo. VHA serves more than 1,350 not-for-profit hospitals and more than 30,000 non-acute health care organizations nationwide.

Union Hospital, Dover, Ohio
Washington Regional Medical Center, Fayetteville, Ark.
WellStar Paulding Hospital, Dallas, Ga.
Wentworth-Douglas Hospital, Dover, N.H.
Yale-New Haven Hospital, New Haven, Conn.
The VHA 2012 Leadership Award for Supply Chain Management Excellence is given to member organizations that demonstrate high levels of performance in at least one of six areas:
Sourcing and resource management
Distribution, logistics and inventory management
Supply chain innovation and creativity
Supplier diversity

VHA PriceLYNX Health Care Organization Index Improvement
"Hospitals must embrace an assortment of effective tools and processes that fully integrate the hospital's supply chain with all of its clinical, operational and financial processes," said Scott Downing, executive vice president, chief sales and marketing officer, VHA.
