VHA Inc. Recognizes Two Michigan Health Care Systems for Community Efforts
(firmenpresse) - IRVING, TX -- (Marketwire) -- 05/21/12 -- VHA Inc., the national health care network, has recognized Allegiance Health, Jackson, Mich., and Spectrum Health System, Grand Rapids, Mich., for extending their caring missions into the communities they serve. The two organizations were presented with the 2012 VHA Leadership Award for Community Benefit Excellence at VHA's Annual Leadership Conference in Denver, Colo., yesterday.
The VHA Leadership Award for Community Benefit recognizes organizations for their focus and commitment to provide quality care benefiting their community, and for effective strategies to build awareness.
By recognizing these award-winning institutions, VHA hopes other not-for-profit hospitals and health systems will apply these leading practices to increase their community impact, improving and expanding on their existing community benefit programs.
The VHA award focuses on three areas:
Demonstration of a comprehensive community benefit strategy
Highlighting a "best of class" community benefit program
Providing an effective communications plan to tell the community benefit story
