Minister Toews Supports Expanded "Wanted by the CBSA" List
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 05/16/12 -- The Honourable Vic Toews, Minister of Public Safety, commented on the addition of names to Canada Border Services Agency's "Wanted by the CBSA list", which has helped locate individuals wanted for removal from Canada. Six new names were added to the "Wanted by the CBSA" list today, bringing the current total number of individuals profiled on the site to more than 100.
"The 'Wanted by the CBSA' list was launched in July 2011, and since then, has been a very effective tool in assisting the CBSA in locating individuals wanted for removal from Canada," stated Minister Toews. "To date, CBSA officials have located 25 individuals in Canada, including an additional five located abroad, and removed 17 individuals from Canada, with the help of this list.
We continue to be committed to locating and removing those individuals who pose a threat to the safety of our citizens and communities. With the assistance of Canadians, we will continue to send the message to those who try to evade justice that we will not tolerate abuse of our laws."
