Thompson, CPA, partner at Sikich LLP, a , was recently honored with an Outstanding Accountancy Alumni Award from Northern Illinois University (NIU). This honor recognizes Thompson for his professional achievements and continued support of NIU's Department of Accountancy, as well as Sikich's commitment to delivering a unique and inspiring employment experience for past and future NIU alumni.
Thompson earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees in Accountancy at NIU. He joined Sikich as a tax partner in 1992 taking over leadership of the office's tax practice and continues in that role today. Thompson has devoted his career to income tax, estate tax and financial planning for closely-held businesses, their owners and individual clients. He focuses much of his practice on transactional services including business entity selection, succession planning, estate planning, family partnerships and mergers and acquisitions, and serves clients in industries such as manufacturing, real estate and service businesses.
