Grand Opening of Camp Hope May 19th, 2012
(firmenpresse) - HOUSTON, TX -- (Marketwire) -- 05/15/12 -- Greystar, the Nation's Largest Apartment Management Company & Developer, along with the Nation's #1 Chevy Dealer, Lone Star Chevrolet, joins the PTSD Foundation of America on May 19th for the Grand Opening of Camp Hope with a BBQ Cook-off from 11:00 - 16:00. Camp Hope will provide interim housing for Veterans and their families in a caring and positive environment. This project is a glowing example of Corporate America coming together to fill a void that is needed within our communities for our military and their families that are coming home from war.
Area Businesses such as Lone Star Chevrolet, Greystar, Camp Construction, Sherwin Williams, Glidden, Shepard Forest Plumbing, HD Supply, Rencon and many others are preparing to compete in the 1st Annual BBQ Cook-off. Congressman Ted Poe will be in attendance and Veterans are encouraged to bring their families out to share a great day of BBQ, live music, kids events & raffles. Festivities will commence at 11:00am with a Grand Opening Ceremony at noon, followed by tours of Camp Hope.
The Camp Hope staff are working to assist veterans in putting the pieces of their lives back together by incorporating a faith-based approach to help combat the effects of Post Traumatic Stress (PTS). Many warriors are coming home with visible wounds; countless others are coming home with scars we cannot see, wounded souls from witnessing the horrors of war over and over again -- PTS. It is our duty as Americans to help these mighty warriors and their families adjust and rebuild their lives.
1 in 3 returning troops are being diagnosed with serious Post Traumatic Stress symptoms, but less than 40% will seek help. On average, 18 troops (most suffering from PTS from current and previous wars) attempt suicide EACH DAY.

Camp Hope will assist veterans with a myriad of issues to include job placement, transportation and peer support groups integration as they pursue the rewarding and fulfilling lives they so richly deserve.
Camp Hope is located at 9724 Derrington near the Sam Houston Race Park. Veterans, their families, and anyone interested in joining our efforts at Camp Hope are invited to come out for free BBQ and enjoy the day.
