Gallup Finds Perception of Business Corruption Widespread as White Collar Crimes Increase
Creizman LLC of New York City and White Plains Sees Marked Increase in White Collar Criminal Defense Cases
(firmenpresse) - NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 05/15/12 -- A new Gallup Poll revealed that two in three adults worldwide believe business corruption is widespread in their countries. This goes with other recent reports that white collar crime is on the rise nationwide with an increased rate of 4.3 percent. The FBI also issued estimates that white collar crime costs America over 300 billion dollars each year.
According to Eric Creizman, principal attorney at Creizman LLC, a law firm specializing in white collar criminal investigations and indicted cases -- technology has made it easier to plan and harder to detect a white collar crime scheme.
Creizman reports that white collar crimes can be just as dangerous as any other crime and can do even more damage. "This accounts for all the hyper-vigilance in the protection of our identities and businesses. Today's workplace is fraught with concerns about deception and betrayal, leading to often unnecessary finger-pointing and wrongful accusations. Reputations are on the line, along with a constant risk of job loss and even bankruptcy."
Creizman's practice has seen a marked expansion in response to the increased demand for expertise in white collar criminal law. The firm -- with locations in New York City at 565 Fifth Avenue, and in Westchester County at 445 Hamilton Avenue in White Plains, NY -- is best known for its client list of high-profile individuals and corporations and for its stellar record of successful outcomes in white collar regulatory investigations and proceedings by the Securities and Exchange Commission, along with significant civil litigation relating to the mortgage-backed securities crisis and defending executives in criminal and regulatory investigations relating to the crisis.
"Along with the burgeoning number of white collar crimes, is the need for attorneys who specialize in the defense of those accused of any white collar criminal activity. The defense is complicated and the cases demand specialized experience and practice as they often involve a mix of legal knowledge and skill, tied in with the practice of reputation management," says Creizman.
Creizman, who was just named a "Rising Star" in the practice of white collar criminal defense in the New York Metropolitan Area for 2012 by Super Lawyers, has represented major financial institutions like Credit Suisse, UBS, Deutsche Bank and J.P Morgan Chase, as well as high-profile individuals like Yankees General Manager Brian Cashman and Tampa Bay Devil Rays baseball prospect Christian Vasquez.
