World Surveillance Group Files Provisional Patent Application on Argus Hybrid Design
Argus One Integrated Payload Test Flights Scheduled for Second Quarter in Nevada

(OTCBB: WSGI), a developer of lighter-than-air unmanned aerial vehicles ("UAVs") and related technologies, announced today that the Company has filed a provisional patent application on an Argus Hybrid aerostat/airship design. The Argus Hybrid builds on the Company's Argus One airship technology and has been designed as an airborne surveillance and communications solution which blends the reliability and duration of an aerostat with the range and stealth of a UAV into one cost effective platform. The Argus Hybrid design is unique in its ability to be launched and operated as an aerostat providing intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance ("ISR") capabilities for extended durations, while at a moment's notice the propulsion unit can be remotely started, the tether can be released, and the Argus Hybrid can function as an unmanned airship capable of surveying hundreds of miles of terrain. The Argus Hybrid was designed by the Company to address specific needs of interested government parties.
The Argus Hybrid is designed to be packaged in a standard size crate that fits in the back of a full size truck or HUMVEE and to be rapidly deployable within hours by a small crew. Once inflated and prepared for launch, the Argus Hybrid is designed to be released on a tether where it can ascend and stay on station providing 24/7 ISR via a sensor payload streaming data through fiber optics in the tether. The Argus Hybrid is designed to be virtually instantaneously transformed into an unmanned airship by remotely starting the engine and releasing the tether thereby allowing the Argus Hybrid to fly unattached capable of covering a range of hundreds of miles of terrain before returning home. During free flight, the Argus Hybrid and the sensor package are commanded via wireless capabilities and satellite communications. Upon returning back to the landing destination, the Argus Hybrid can be refueled and launched again as an aerostat awaiting the next opportunity to be released for free flight.
In efforts to further develop its Argus line of products, WSGI is currently working with interested government agencies on custom developed, compact, tethered aerostat solutions as well as free flight platforms.
The Company is also in the final stages of preparing the Argus One UAV for government sponsored payload flight testing in Nevada. During the first quarter of 2012, WSGI and its technical partners commenced the integration of government provided specific payloads into its Argus One airship and the payload flight testing of the Argus One is expected to be completed in the second quarter. Following these sponsored payload flight tests, the Company plans to continue flight testing and demonstrations of the Argus One airship in different locations as well as utilizing the UAV as a test platform for the Argus Hybrid.
