Minister Raitt Congratulates Many Rivers Counselling and Support Services and PSAC for Reaching an Agreement
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 05/08/12 -- The Honourable Lisa Raitt, Canada's Minister of Labour, applauded Many Rivers Counselling and Support Services and the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) for ratifying a new collective agreement.
"I commend Many Rivers Counselling and Support Services and PSAC for reaching a negotiated agreement," said Minister Raitt. "Strong labour-management relations benefit our country's economic prosperity and the economic security of Canadians."
PSAC represents a unit of approximately 25 clinical counselling and administrative support staff whose collective agreement expired on December 31, 2011. Many Rivers is a non-profit organization that has been working in Yukon since 1969 helping children, youth, adults and families through difficult challenges and transitions, such as illness, separation and other life changes.
The agreement was reached with assistance from the Labour Program's Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service. The Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service provides dispute-resolution and dispute-prevention assistance to trade unions and employers under the jurisdiction of the Canada Labour Code.
